University of Belgrade

University of Belgrade (http://www.bg.ac.rs/en/) is a state university with a very rich tradition. The founding father of the University of Belgrade was one of the leading regional intellectuals and philosophers of the time - Dositej Obradović. He founded the “Velika Škola” (Great School) in 1808, which grew into the University of Belgrade. It is a very large university, with 88000 undergraduate and postgraduate students and 315 study programmes. Since 2013 the University of Belgrade holds a place between 301 to 400 on the prestigious global rank list of the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), and Shanghai Ranking. Professors, researchers and associates of the University of Belgrade make the largest part of the research potential of Serbia. They are involved in a wide area of basic, applied and interdisciplinary research supported by national, bilateral, regional and EU funds. The attractive research environment at 31 faculties and 11 research institutes is a strong basis for doctoral studies, yielding over 300 PhD theses a year. Excellence in research has made the University of Belgrade one of the top universities in South-Eastern and Eastern Europe.

Otvorena vrata za održivi razvoj na Filozofskom fakultetu u Beogradu

Univerzitet u Beogradu doprineo je ove godine Svetskom danu otvorenih vrata za održivi razvoj organizujući promotivni događaj na Filozofskom fakultetu 25.3.2015. godine. Cilj događaja je bio da se promoviše koncept održivog razvoja na univerzitetima i razmene informacije o tekućim projektima koji se bave održivim razvojem. Nataša Simić je predstavila osnovni cilj, aktivnosti i produkte projekta eSchool4S. Publiku su sačinjavali studenti i nastavnici sa šest fakulteta Univerziteta u Beogradu (Arhitektonski, Biološki, Geografski, Fakultet organizacionih nauka, Fakultet političkih nauka i Filozofski fakultet), kao i saradnici sa različitih instituta i iz različitih organizacija. Nakon sat i po prezentacija, razvila se živa diskusija, tokom koje su razmatrani izazovi, ali i ideje i mogućnosti za buduću saradanju, kako između studenata, tako i ostalih učesnika događaja.

OPEN DOOR FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AT THE FACULTY OF PHILOSOPHY IN BELGRADE

University of Belgrade contributed this year to World Sustainable Development Teach in Day through the promotional event organized in Faculty of Philosophy on Wednesday, 25.03.2015. The aim of the event was to promote the concept of sustainable development on universities and to exchange information on undergoing projects dealing with sustainable development. Natasa Simic presented main goal, activities and deliverables of the eSchool4S project. The audiance consisted of students and teachers from six faculties of the University of Belgrade (Architecture, Biology, Geography, Organizational Science, Philosophy, Political Science), associates from different institutes and organizations. After hour and a half of presentations, vivid discussion has been developed on oportunities, challenges and ideas for future cooperation, both between students and other participants of the event.
